An Introduction into the world of Crystal Healing
& Crystal Therapy
I guess my first introduction to healing with crystals came around ten years ago. One day my friend came into work and told me that her mum was in pain and depressed and was going to see a Crystal Healer. I thought, why?
How could putting stones on and around her body possibly be effective?
Wouldn’t she be better off trying a more conventional ‘alternative’ therapy such as Homeopathy? (This was obviously not in my open-minded stage!)
That was before I understood the bigger picture of how we are all energetic beings, and that crystals are also energetic ‘beings’ and how energy can be effected, manipulated and influenced.
It’s funny now as I watch my children pick up careful selected stones and rough-quartz that lay around outside on the paths and track-ways surrounding our house. How closely they inspect every individual one and want to bring them home for a while! Then they ditch them when they’ve had enough (healing?) - easy come, easy go!
I recall doing the same thing as a child, bringing home special stones from the beach or lumps of granite (interestingly an igneous rock which contains an aggregate of crystals) back from holidays on Dartmoor.
Did you do the same?
Where along the way did we adults lose that natural ability to become self-healers by touching and playing with the right stone? And why does it seem so strange now to expect crystals to heal us? Who knows!
What’s important now is to recognise that Crystal Healing is an effective therapy and has been for thousands of years! The following pages have been designed to demonstrate that. The first section is a Beginners Guide which touches on some of the basics. The second section - the Resource Guide - takes you on a tour of some of the best web sites on Crystal Healing and Crystal Therapy. It is also designed to put you in touch with people who can give you help, guidance and direction and there’s plenty of testimonials to be found for those who need a little more convincing!
And hopefully, when you get to the end you’ll never look at a stone or crystal in the same way again and, like me, will come to see the ‘solid’ world that surrounds us in a new ‘crystal clear’ light!
